A little Halloween fun from our Bicclescombe Nursery site in Ilfracombe. As the moon rose on 31 October, a familiar-looking crew drifted through the gates: hard hats on, work boots ready, and not a solid body between them.
This is the night shift that only comes out once a year. With 364 days off, you might expect them to arrive full of energy. Instead, they asked when the tea break was and complained that someone had moved their favourite wheelbarrow since last Halloween.
Their work ethic was certainly spirited, although walking straight through walls made checking the door openings rather pointless. Meanwhile, the spiders had taken the decorating brief a little too literally.
By sunrise, the ghostly gang had clocked off for another year. Excellent attendance, very flexible working hours, and absolutely no chance of getting them back on Monday.
