St Stephen U16 Team's Heartfelt Farewell Celebration

We sponsored the St Stephen Under 16's football team, and this was their last season in youth football.

Mark Orrell, one of our senior site managers and the head coach for the team, said, "We have just completed our last season in youth football (U16s) with a win away to Truro, who won the league several weeks ago and up until that point were unbeaten all season!   The photo taken of the lads in the goalmouth was prior to the match. We gave Truro a guard of honour as they entered the pitch, then proceeded to give them the game of their lives!"

This was our most complete performance of the season, and we couldn’t be any prouder of the effort and the team spirit that the lads showed to go out on such a high 😊 It ended 2-0 to the mighty Saints, and big George was voted man of the match by the parents for at least five leaping salmon saves!!

We finished in a respectable third position in our league behind Charlestown and Truro.

We won the league cup against Wadebridge a couple of weeks ago on a dreadful evening of wind and rain at Camelford. Despite going behind to a goal midway through the second half, the lads equalised and scored the winner in extra time."

We have to say the kit looks incredible, and we are extremely proud of the team. We wish them all the success moving into adults football.
